Some buyers also opted to pay a premium over list prices for the same reason.Hyundai Steel raised scrap purchase prices at its Incheon and Dangjin plants by KRW 10-15/kg ($7-10/t), while POSCO increased prices by KRW 10/kg ($7/t) for most grades and KRW 15/kg ($10/t) for lightweight compressed and guillotine scrap from 5 May. SeAH Besteel, Korea Steel, Korea Special Steel, and Dongkuk Steel also announced KRW 10/kg ($7/t) hikes through special purchase programmes effective from 7 May.

A diversified automaker-with presence in 2W, 3W, PVs, CVs, tractors, and earthmovers-auctioned 5,000 t CR busheling scrap (coated/non-coated punching scrap) from Nashik/Pune, Maharashtra on 24 Apr'26; 3,250 t booked. Nashik sold 250 t non-coated at INR 39,300/t ex-plant. Pune fetched INR 36,100/t for 3,000 t same grade. 1,600 t coated unsold due to low bids; rescheduling soon.
