SteelOrbis: The European Commission has launched an anti-dumping (AD) investigation into imports of welded steel mesh from China and Turkiye following a complaint by the European Welded Steel Mesh Producers Association. The probe will assess whether the products were dumped in the EU market and whether such imports caused injury to the domestic industry.
The dumping investigation will cover the period from 1 January to 31 December 2025, while the injury assessment will examine market trends from 1 January 2022 through the end of the investigation period.
The Commission is expected to conclude the investigation within 14 months, with provisional measures likely to be imposed within the next 7-8 months.
The products under investigation are grill, mesh, netting, and fencing, welded at the intersection, of plain wire; non plated, or plated or coated with zinc or other coating; whether presented in rolls or not; whether galvanised or not. The products are currently classified under Customs Tariff Statistics Position Numbers 7314 20 90, 7314 31 00, and 7314 39 00.
