Iron ore freights climb up w-o-w amid firm fixtures ahead of CNY holidays
Dry bulk iron ore freights rose w-o-w on 17 Feb'26, supported by firm demand and higher bunker prices. The rebound in the Baltic Dry Index, coupled with fixtures concluded at elevated levels and strong vessel demand ahead of the Chinese New Year holidays, further supported freights. Activity in the Pacific remained robust with active vessel fixtures, whereas the Atlantic basin saw limited momentum due to a lack of fresh trading activity.
