India: Trade-level HR plate prices edge up w-o-w on rising demand
BigMint's weekly benchmark assessment for HR plate (2040 mm, Gr E250 Br.) edged up by INR 400/t ($4/t) w-o-w to INR 55,400/t ($604/t) as of 21 January 2026, compared with INR 55,000/t ($600/t) a week earlier, supported by rising demand. Additionally, a major steel producer hiked HR plate prices upto INR 1,000/t. The prices are ex-Mumbai for the distributor-to-dealer segment and exclude 18% GST.
