India: Semis and IF route finish steel prices jump in major supply regions
India's sponge iron and steel billet prices along with IF route finish steel prices, recorded a sharp uptick in the second half of todays trading session in major supplying markets like Raipur Durgapur etc. However, till BigMints collection window and assessment timing, no significant trades were reported, with offers quoted on the lower side amid cautious sentiment. Post assessment, mills revised offers upward by between 500-1,000/t across segments, indicating improved inquiries and trading activities in spot market. Current offers in Sponge iron PDRI stood at between INR 26,300-26,500/t, while billet prices stood at between INR 40,600-40,700/t exw Raipur.
