India: Melting scrap prices remain stable for 5th straight day in Alang
Ship-breaking melting scrap prices in Alang, Gujarat, remained stable d-o-d for the fifth consecutive day on 26 Mar'26, with HMS (80:20) at INR 35,000/t ($372/t) ex-yard. Due to gas shortages, most ship breakers in Alang slowed operations, prompting scrap suppliers to hold firm on offers. Minor price corrections occurred in semi-finished and finished steel in yesterday's trading session in Ahmedabad and Bhavnagar, amid moderate-to-subdued trade.
