Egypt: Trafigura partners with Egyptalum for major aluminium smelter expansion in Egypt

Trafigura has signed a term sheet with Egyptalum and Metallurgical Industries Holding Company to develop a $750-900 million primary aluminium project in Egypt. The plan includes a 300,000 tpa smelter and 150,000 tpa anode plant at Nag Hammadi, aimed at nearly doubling Egyptalum's capacity. The project aims to nearly double Egyptalum's capacity, and enhance long-term raw material security through Trafigura's offtake and investment participation.
