China: Mine accident in Shanxi Province may tighten coking coal supplies
The Shaqu coal mine in Luliang, Shanxi Province, with a capacity of 4.5 mnt/year and owned by Huajin Coking Coal Company, reported an explosion on 13 Dec'23. After the accident, Huajin suspended 10 mines with combined capacity of 18 mnt/year. The suspension of mines may lead to limited supply of coking coal, it is feared.
