China: Iron ore prices fall by $1/t d-o-d
Iron ore fines (Fe 61%) spot prices showed a decline of $0.65/t to $102.7/dmt CFR China on 28 Jan'26. Trading was quiet ahead of the Lunar New Year, with thinner liquidity for Feb-Mar cargoes. Spot prices stayed stable on pre-holiday demand. Port buying showed mild improvement and sentiment stayed cautious, while stronger March cargo interest for post-holiday restocking kept the market in contango.
