Baltic Dry Index rises on strong Capesize gains

The Baltic Dry Index gained 2.8% (56 points) to 2,066 on 9 Mar'26 against 6 Mar, driven by a sharp rise in Capesize earnings amid improved iron ore cargo activity and higher bunker prices.

• Capesize: BCI surged by 7.8% (204 points) to 2,835.
• Panamax: BPI fell 2.4% (48 points) to 1,914.
• Supramax: BSI dropped 0.9% (13 points) to 1,373.
