Baltic Dry Index rises on strong Capesize demand, improved cargo activity

The Baltic Dry Index increased 1.8% (35 points) d-o-d to 2,030 on 01 Apr'26, supported by stronger Capesize demand driven by improved iron ore shipments, steady cargo activity, and firm bunker prices.

• Capesize: BCI surged 2.6% (76 points) to 3,023.
• Panamax: BPI gained 0.8% (14 points) to 1,758.
• Supramax: BSI was up 0.6% (7 points) to 1,209.
