Baltic dry index rebounds 4% d-o-d on vessel demand recovery
The Baltic Dry Index increased by 4% (76 points) d-o-d to 1,958 points on 11 Feb'26, mainly driven by demand recovery for Capesize and Panamax vessels. The sharp gain in the Capesize segment suggests increased iron ore and coal shipments, tightening vessel availability and pushing freight rate higher.
- Capesize: BCI gained by 5.16% (143 points) to 2,914.
- Panamax: BPI rose by 3.89% (65 points) to 1,735.
- Supramax: BSI up by 1.51% (17 points) to 1,140.
