USA : Flat Steel Imports up 20% Y-o-Y in Jun’17

According to USA customs data, USA flat steel imports which includes (7208 HR coils/Plates,7209 CR coils, 7210, 7212 GP/GC and 7225 electrical sheets) rose significantly by 20%, on yearly basis to 1.21 MnT in Jun’17 as compared to 1.01 MnT in Jun’16.
On monthly basis, nation’s flat steel imports rose by 14% in Jun’17 against May’17. In May’17 the same stood at 1.06 MnT.
In H1CY17(Jan-Jun) country’s flat steel imports recorded at 5.93 MnT,up by 5.3% as compared to 5.63 MnT in similar time-frame of previous year.

Country-wise USA Flat Steel Exports in Jun'17
Canada was the major flat steel importer from USA and has imported 1.5 MnT in Jun'17. Other countries include Mexico with 0.37 MnT and 0.59 MnT from Korea
