Taiwan: Flat Steel Exports Inch Down by 3% in Oct'18

As per latest custom data,Taiwan flat steel exports which includes 7208 (HR coils/Plates),7209(CR coils),7225(Electrical sheets),7210/7212(GP/GC) slide down by 3% M-o-M to 0.84 MnT in Oct’18 as compare to 0.87 MnT in previous month.
Imposition of USA tariffs by 25% lead to lower export volumes from Taiwan.Meanwhile thin trades and weak buying interest among end users in Vietnam also results to decline in export volumes from Taiwan.
On yearly basis, nation’s flat steel exports have shown significant surge of 22% in Oct’18 as compared to 0.69 MnT in same month of previous year.
During first ten months (Jan-Oct’18) nation’s flat steel export increases by 6% at 7.50 MnT against 7.09 MnT in similar time frame of previous year.

Country-Wise Taiwan Flat Steel Exports in Oct’18 - Vietnam being the major importer of Taiwan procured 0.10 MnT in Oct’18 less by 9% compared to 0.11 MnT in previous month.
Secondly, China imported 0.11 MnT in Oct’18 against 0.12 MnT in Sep’18.
Followed by Japan at 0.09 MnT, Malaysia at 0.06 MnT, Spain and Belgium with 0.06 MnT followed by USA with 0.01 Mnt in Oct’18.
