SteelMint's billet index decreased marginally by INR 100/tonne (t) to INR 47,650/t exw-Raipur on 21 January, 2023. Billets prices dropped due to sluggish steel demand and limited trade. Transactions of around 900 t were recorded on 21 January in Raipur as against 1,150 t as reported on 20 January.

Indian sponge iron prices fell by INR 50-250/t in key locations owing to sluggish trends and price volatility. About 8,800 t of sponge iron transactions were recorded on 21 January in India as against 20,710 t on 20 January.
