South Africa: Manganese Ore Export Volume Sees Sameness in May’18

According to South African customs, the country has witnessed a mere increase of 1% M-o-M in its Manganese Ore exports in May’18.

South Africa exported 1.53 MnT in May’18 against 1.52 MnT in Apr’18. Moreover, on yearly basis, South African Manganese Ore exports recorded a substantial increase of 12% as it was 1.37 MnT in May’17.

Manganese Ore export volume from South Africa remained stable as Chinese traders had sufficient inventory at ports and logistical issue prevailing in South Africa.

China, being the largest importer of South African Manganese witnessed a rise of 55% M-o-M in May’18, followed by India, Malaysia, Norway, South Korea, Russia, and Singapore.
