Western Coalfields Ltd (WCL) will auction 408,000 tonnes (t) of non-coking coal under the CIL Single Window Mode Agnostic e-auction on 29 June 2026. The offer comprises coal from four clusters across WCL's mining areas, with dispatches available through both road and rail modes.
Ukani OCM emerges as largest contributor
Ukani OCM (Cost Plus) has emerged as the largest contributor to the auction, offering 204,000 t, accounting for exactly 50% of the total quantity on offer.
The cluster has offered 200,000 t through road mode and 4,000 t through rail mode via Wani siding, with all volumes classified as G11 grade coal. The notified price stands at INR 5,064/t for road dispatches and INR 4,974/t for rail supplies. Coal supplied through Wani siding will be sourced entirely from Ukani OCM.
Amalgamated Inder Kamptee mine offers 86,000 t
The Amalgamated Inder Kamptee Deep OCM cluster has offered 86,000 t, comprising 70,000 t through road mode and 16,000 t through rail mode via Dumrikhurd siding.
The cluster carries a representative grade of G10-G12 mixed coal with a notified price of INR 2,199/t. Rail-linked supplies will be sourced from a mix of feeding collieries, including Amalgamated Inder Kamptee OCM (G12), Gondegaon OCM (G11), Bhanegaon OCM (G12) and Singhori OCM (G10). Notified prices for these grades range from INR 1,768/t to INR 2,077/t.
Mungoli to offer 64,000 t
Mungoli OCM has offered 64,000 t of G10 coal, including 60,000 t through road mode and 4,000 t through rail mode via Mungoli siding.
The notified price for road-dispatched coal stands at INR 2,167/t, while rail-linked volumes are priced at INR 2,077/t. The entire rail quantity will be sourced from Mungoli OCM.
Ghonsa contributes 54,000 t
The Ghonsa OCM cluster has offered 54,000 t, comprising 50,000 t through road mode and 4,000 t through rail mode via Wani siding.
Road quantities consist of G8-G9 mixed coal with a notified price of INR 2,836/t, while rail quantities comprise G9 coal priced at INR 2,259/t. The rail-linked supply will be sourced entirely from Ghonsa OCM.
Road mode dominates auction basket
Road-dispatched coal accounts for 380,000 t, representing more than 93% of the total offer volume, while the remaining 28,000 t is available through rail mode.
The auction basket is largely dominated by G10 and G11 grades, with notified prices ranging between INR 1,768/t and INR 5,064/t, depending on the source, grade and mode of evacuation. The substantial offering is expected to attract participation from industrial consumers, sponge iron producers and captive power plants seeking thermal coal supplies ahead of the monsoon period.
