India: Sandur records twofold increase in manganese alloys production in FY'26

  • Manganese ore production rises 16% y-o-y in FY'26

  • Sales record sharper rise of 89% y-o-y

Sandur Manganese and Iron Ore Limited reported a robust operational performance in FY'26, with manganese ore production increasing 16% y-o-y to 0.59 mnt against 0.51 mnt in FY'25.

Sales recorded a sharper rise of 89% y-o-y, reaching 0.34 mnt compared with 0.18 mnt in the previous fiscal, supported by improved dispatches and stronger offtake across quarters.

The company's ferro alloys segment also witnessed substantial growth, with production climbing 89% y-o-y to 51,857 t in FY'26. Production maximised from two furnaces. Manganese alloys sales surged significantly to 56,130 t, compared with 17,954 t in FY'25, reflecting improved operational throughput and better market participation.

Sequentially, manganese ore production rose 46% q-o-q to 0.202 mnt in Q4FY'26 against 0.138 mnt in the preceding quarter, while sales increased 36% q-o-q to 0.12 mnt from 0.088 mnt.

The company highlighted that ferro alloys production improved consistently across each quarter of FY'26 despite challenging industry conditions. The company also indicated early signs of recovery in the ferro alloys market, supported by improving realisations and a more favourable operating environment within the broader iron and steel sector.
