India: NCL, ECL to auction over 280,000 t of non-coking coal next week

Northern Coalfields Limited (NCL) and Eastern Coalfields Limited (ECL) are set to conduct non-coking coal auctions on 18 June 2026, collectively offering 280,200 tonnes (t) across multiple grades through road and rail modes.
NCL to offer 193,000 t
NCL will account for nearly 69% of the total volume on offer. Jhingurda OC will auction 110,000 t of G13-grade coal (-250 mm) through road mode. Meanwhile, Jayant mine will offer 83,000 t of G10-grade coal (-250 mm), including 75,000 t through road dispatches and 8,000 t via rail.
ECL to place 87,200 t under the hammer
ECL will offer 87,200 t of non-coking coal across three mines. Sonpur Bazari will contribute the largest share with 65,000 t of G4-grade steam coal through road dispatches from Sonpur Bazari OC and rail loading via PSPB (Wharfwall). Mugma B will auction 14,200 t of W04-grade steam coal through road mode from Chapapur (II) OCP and rail loading through MMU IIIA/PMCS siding. Salanpur A will offer 8,000 t of W04-grade steam coal through Rail Dalmia Siding and Road Dabor OC.
