BigMint's billet index dropped further by INR 150/t, reaching INR 44,150/t exw-Raipur on 13 May, 2024. About 2,100 t of transactions were recorded on 13 May as against 1,000 t on 10 May.

BigMint's domestic end-cutting scrap index in the Mandi Gobindgarh market has fallen for the sixth consecutive day, dropping by INR 300/t to INR 40,800/t DAP on 13 May, 2024.

Sponge iron prices in all key domestic markets dropped in the range of INR 50-550/t on 13 May, 2024 due to soft steel demand. Only 6,000 t of sponge iron transactions were recorded in the country on 13 May compared to 7,000 t on 10 May.
