Vedanta’s Iron Ore Production at 4.7 MnT in H1 FY17

In first half of FY17, Vedanta produced 4.7 MnT iron ore against 1 MnT in the same period last fiscal.
Mining conglomerate - Vedanta has produced 4.7 MnT saleable iron ore in H1 FY17. Out of this, 2.9 MnT iron ore was produced from its mines in Goa and remaining from Karnataka. Production from Goa has ramped up in this fiscal.
Iron ore sales in H1 FY17 was recorded at 3.4 MnT compared to 1.2 MnT in the same period last fiscal.
In its quarterly results announced today (i.e. 10 Oct’16), the miner reported iron ore production of 1.5 MnT in Q2 FY17.
Goan iron ore production has fallen in Q2 FY17 over monsoons. The miner has resumed iron ore mining and exports following the monsoon season from end of Sept’16.
