South Africa: Glencore's ferro chrome output declines 63% y-o-y in CY'25

Glencore, a major global ferro chrome producer, reported a sharp 63% y-o-y decline in ferro chrome output to 436,000 t in CY'25 from 730,000 t in CY'24 due to suspensions at the Boshoek and Wonderkop smelters. Chrome ore production also edged lower by 65,000 t (2%) y-o-y to 3.613 mnt in CY'25. Currently, operations at the Lion smelter remain suspended amid extended maintenance and planned furnace rebuilds.
