Russia's domestic power sector shows stability amid export competition
Despite mounting global price pressure on Russian coal, the country's power sector shows resilience. October electricity output held steady at 102 TWh, with a slight dip in thermal generation (-3% y-o-y) balanced by stronger nuclear (+8%) and hydro (+7%) contributions. With Jan-Oct'25 output down just 1%, a stable domestic demand environment continues to support the energy sector as exporters compete aggressively in Asia.
