India: South African coal enquiries remain weak at ports
Portside South African thermal coal prices in India remained stable w-o-w amid weak buying activity and limited enquiries. Ex-Paradip RB2 (5,500 NAR) prices were heard around INR 11,350/t, while RB3 (4,800 NAR) remained stable near INR 9,800/t. Market participants stated that traders maintained firm offer levels due to higher replacement costs of imported cargoes. However, comfortable domestic coal supply continued restricting imported coal demand.
