India: Melting scrap prices drop by INR 200/t d-o-d in Alang
Ship-breaking melting scrap prices in Gujarat's Alang market dropped by INR 200/t d-o-d on 17 Feb'26. According to BigMint's assessment, HMS (80:20) prices stood at INR 33,300/t ($367/t) ex-yard. The decline was driven by corrections of INR 200-300/t in semi-finished steel prices due to weak trading activity. Additionally, average demand for scrap from IF mills drove suppliers to reduce their offers during todays session.
