Ship-breaking melting scrap prices in Gujarat's Alang market decreased by INR 700/t d-o-d on 8 Apr'26, according to BigMint's assessment. HMS (80:20) prices stood at INR 37,800/t ($408/t) exy. Market participants were uncertain following the US-Iran ceasefire, leading to a disparity between bids and offers. Additionally, mills expect finished steel prices to soften. Consequently, scrap suppliers reduced their offers today.
