India imposes 5-year anti-dumping duty on Chinese aluminium foil amid import surge

India has imposed a five-year anti-dumping duty on aluminium foil (5.5-80 microns thick) imports from China, extending an earlier six-month measure. The found material injury to the domestic industry from low-priced imports. As per data maintained by BigMint, India imported 231,182 t in FY'25, including 156,812 t from China -- a 9% rise from FY'24's 144,495 t -- prompting action to curb excess imports.
