China: Stainless steel output rises 7% y-o-y in Jan'26

China's stainless steel production increased 7% y-o-y in Jan'26, rising by 0.20 mnt to 3.06 mnt, compared with 2.86 mnt in Jan'25. The gain was led by 300 series, which grew by 0.14 mnt (+9% y-o-y) to 1.71 mnt, supported by steady mill utilisation. 200 series output rose by 0.04 mnt (+5% y-o-y) to 0.81 mnt, while 400 series increased marginally by 0.02 mnt (+4% y-o-y) to 0.54 mnt, reflecting controlled supply growth amid cautious demand.
