China: Billet, SHFE rebar prices edge up on stronger demand, export support
- Chinese billet prices inched up by RMB 10/t ($1/t) to RMB 2,990/t ($423/t) on 1 Dec against 28 Nov, while SHFE rebar gained RMB 24/t ($3/t) to RMB 3,134/t ($443/t).
Stronger demand and improved market sentiment lifted billet prices. Strong exports, a weaker dollar, rising raw material costs, and low inventories also supported price gains.
