China: Billet, rebar prices edge up; market sentiment remains cautious
- Chinese billet prices increased by RMB 10/t ($1/t) as compared to 26 Dec'25 to RMB 2,950/t ($421/t) on 29 Dec'25; SHFE rebar increased by RMB 18/t ($3/t) to RMB 3,096/t ($442/t).
- Prices edged up marginally, while stable mill capacity and weak demand capped gains. Soft fundamentals, flat billet and export indices, and weak raw materials point to possible clarity emerging only in January.
