Baltic Dry Index rises for 5th straight day on rising vessel demand

The Baltic Dry Index increased for the 5th consecutive day, rising 1% (22 points) d-o-d to 2,161 on 9 Apr'26, on improved cargo demand, increased post-holiday chartering activity, and firmer freight rates across segments.

• Capesize: BCI gained 0.5% (15 points) to 3,235.
• Panamax: BPI up 1% (19 points) to 1,842.
• Supramax: BSI surged 2.5% (32 points) to 1,293.
