Baltic dry bulk index pulls back after hitting 2-year high
The Baltic dry bulk index eased from a near two-year peak, declining 1.1% (30 points) d-o-d to 2,815 on 04 Dec'25. Capesize softened on reduced chartering momentum, while Panamax weakened amid lower grain and coal demand. Supramax also edged down as cargo volumes softened slightly across major routes.
- Capesize: The BCI fell 1.3% (68 points) to 5,319.
- Panamax: The BPI slipped 1.5% (29 points) to 1,863.
- Supramax: The BSI decreased 0.21% (3 points) to 1,441.
